Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on the 6th of November, 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone
(nee Yeager), a homemaker & Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a
founder of a contracting firm and CEO. She is of Swedish, German &
British Isles descent. Stone began her acting career as a child in Phoenix's
Valley Youth Theatre. There she made her stage debut in the performance in
"The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame. In her teens, Stone was
a part of many productions before she decided to make acting her career.
According to the official account, she made a PowerPoint presentation, backed
by Madonna's "Hollywood" and itself entitled "Project
Hollywood", in an attempt to persuade her parents to allow her to abandon
school and move to Los Angeles. After the presentation was accepted she and her
mother moved to LA. She continued her education at home and was able to
audition. She made her TV breakthrough when she won the part of Laurie
Partridge in the VH1 reality show based on a talent show In Search of the
Partridge Family (2004) that was followed by a string of smaller TV roles over
the following years. Her film debut was as Jules in Superbad (2007) and, after
a string of great performances, her lead role as Olive in Easy A (2010)
established her as a star. Attended Xavier College Preparatory in Phoenix,
Arizona. While she's referred to as a redhead, her real hair shade is blonde.
Judd Apatow was the one who suggested she change her hair's color to match
Superbad (2007). The movie was so well-received that she chose to keep her
hair. At age 15 she convinced her parents that she could make the move to
Hollywood. She did this by creating a PowerPoint presentation entitled Project
Hollywood. At 11 years old, she began acting in the Valley Youth Theatre,
Phoenix, AZ. There, she starred in 16 stage productions and was a part in the
comedy troupe of improv. Caylee Cowan also appeared at the Valley Youth
Theatre.
